1st Dan Black Belt / IKA Instructor / Level 2 England Boxing Coach / First Aid Trained / Safeguarding

I started kickboxing and boxing at the Combat Sports Centre in 2009. I really enjoyed the training, competing and the social side that came with learning a martial art. After passing my black belt, I took my instructor qualifications so I could pass on the same experiences I had, to others.

I have been mentored by Paul Gilmore, the founder of IKA, all my career and I always try to maintain the high standards of teaching he expects. I’ve now moved my competitive career towards amateur boxing and one day look to try and compete for GB. So far I have won 2 Box Cups and represented the Midlands. In the long term, I hope pass my knowledge on to our other amateur boxers within the West Warwicks ABC boxing team.’

BSc Sports Performance / UEFA C License / 2nd Dan Black Belt / IKA Instructor / UKSCA member

I started kickboxing in 2002 when I was 7 years old as my mom wanted him to be able to defend myself in school. Little did I know how big of an influence martial arts would have on my life. Alongside earning my 2nd Dan black belt I went on to win many titles throughout my fight career, including British and represent England winning the European championships and also a bronze medal in the World Championships.

Following an injury, I went on to study (BSc) Sports Performance & Coaching at University of South Wales, with a specific interest in Strength and Conditioning. I also coached out in California to further my experience before joining the Combat Sports Centre team as Head Strength & Conditioning coach.

My boxing journey started in 2013 when I signed up for boxing classes mainly for fitness. Before I knew it I was investing in a sparring kit and preparing for my debut bout. Growing up in Tenerife and fighting all over Spain, I had the chance to represent The Canary Islands in the Spanish Championships and I won Gold in the -75kg elite class.

I decided to pursue my boxing dream and made the move to England in 2019. After visiting the Combat Sports Centre, I knew this was the place to be! An amazing venue with all the equipment needed and friendly coaches full of experience. We have already won the Midlands Championship and won Gold in the 'Winter Womens Boxing Cup'. My goal in my amaeteur career is to compete in the Commonwealth Games in 2022. I hope as a coach to inspire more females to try out Combat Sports and build their confidence in this area.
